Well, this is an interesting thread...

Speaking of Cheney, why do you suppose we're seeing more of him since he left the office than while he was in it?

That's my impression, anyway.

I'm not sure, it's got to be more than just ego but I'm not sure what the underlying agenda is at this moment.

It's all about messaging... They haven't quite completed their agenda (Cheney hasn't moved to Paraguay yet) and so he is buying the extended warrantee until some key events occur. When the likes of Cheney and Bush emigrate, you know the agenda is complete and the U.S. will become a wasteland unless it's People get their shit together fast.

It's a shame we even NEED laws. We should just be able to take a man at his word and not have to take three pages of legalease just to get a phoneline. But those days are long gone. And damn my Granda misses those days.

Torture like twister is fun to play - even better when drinking cold beer and eating popped corn!

Don't think for a moment these boneheaded throwbacks to civilization don't practice torture without impunity. They also execute their prisoners without a fair trial. And all the fucking do gooders want me to respect their rights? Kiss my ass.

This argument that torture only provides a recruiting tool for them - get fucking real they have the Koran to provide all the propaganda they need to recruit! Or maybe it is the excitment about becoming a human bomb that attracts their rank and file members.

I think that since these kind and caring people won't accept our concept of "Rule of Law" we should consider that it is their country we are in and therefore we should simply operate under the tenants of Sharia law. How is that for playing fair and paying respect to their culture?

Get fucking real if you think torture is effective and pull your head out of your ass if you don't think it greatly helps their recruiting by validating their claims that the U.S. is an imperialistic evil.  You know like the Nazi's?  Jerk Off

Sheep

I'd say it's time you stopped drinking the government koolaid

Stop Drinking the Koolaid

Never claimed it is effective, but then I see no data saying it has no benefit either!

What I don't get is that I thought the whole purpose of this war on terrorism was to eliminate the terrorists? So is it that we can only do so based on some fucking concept of chivalry? If you join a fight. then fight. If you want to kiss ass, become a politician!

Surely, you jest, AO! There have been many studies that show that torture will get anyone to say just about anything. And much of what has been "said" has nothing to do with the truth.

Controversy is a catalyst for thought provocation!
But then one man's torture is another man's pleasure! Who am I to judge!
