Wow, 100% agree with this post....I couldn't have said it better myself.

I find it hard to believe that the Republican Party couldn't find a reasonable alternative to Sarah Palin when they were looking for a running mate for McCain. She is very photogenic and folksy, and she does mobilize the "base," but her way of speaking a lot without saying anything concrete was maddening.

The Great War started with the assassination of the Archduke Ferdinand, actually, Germany was just a great power in the war.

I doubt she'd run, and if she did, hardly anyone would vote for her. She was dragged in for the female vote, and nobody even heard of her until the elections. Search her name on Google Trends, it spiked during the election then nosedived to what it was before.

If you will read what I wrote I make no claim about agreeing with her theological or political positions. That is not the issue it is about character!

Yes, I take no issue for her resigning prematurely. The people of Alaska benefited IMO, she then was also free to pursue and capitalize on her popularity, free to voice her positions and to avoid the frivoulous attacks by her opponents. I could care less what the GOP has to offer that is not the point. Sometimes those who loosely use the "Sheep" or "herding" label should pause for a moment and review their own positions!

I liken this to the attack about "hippies" seeking to be different from the establishment by dressing just like the other hippies. Weak argument and totally unsustainable in a real constructive debate or exchange about what to do to improve things.

Personally I find it self-defeating when no alternatives are allowed to be presented or consider and all the "herding" claims in the world will not change that one bit. Broad accusations and stereotyping serves nothing good as far a positive change IMO. Objective assesment really should be considered - it will provide concepts to be considered if the intent is to really effect a positive change. Otherwise we get the same old shit just a different color - sort of like what we got with Obama!
